Beer Trip: Rendezvous Junction Brewing Co. in Rogers, Arkansas

Northwest Arkansas has plenty of brewery options to choose from, but Rendezvous Junction just so happened to be the closest one to where we were staying - so it won out for the day! Offering tons of different beers and a fun atmosphere, it ended up being a solid decision.

The Brewery

Rendezvous Junction got its namesake from people coming together (a rendezvous) at a specific location (a junction) - which, in this case, would be the brewery. Along these same lines, they decided that their theme should match and a train/railroad atmosphere seemed to pair perfectly. The whole place is a mixture of wood, brick, or iron - exactly like you would picture at a train depot.

They have two stories of seating, with the upstairs portion being reservable for larger parties. The bar sits along the back wall, which features a large mural of their logo, their beer taps, and an actual bell that they ring whenever a keg blows (which was fun to experience)! Unfortunately when I visited the patio space was under construction, but it looked like it will be an excellent addition.

The Beer

Not many places can boast the number of beers they brew quite like Rendezvous Junction can. With a full 23 drinks on tap, they have something for everyone. During our visit, the menu consisted of 6 IPAs, 6 sours, a porter, a stout, and a wheat (to name a few). We were informed that roughly one-third of the menu is considered flagship beer, while the rest rotate consistently. One thing that we found neat was that the majority of their beers are named after things or activities that people might do when they get together - like the Just Jammin’, Monkin’ Around, or Tickled Pink, as examples.

With so many options, we elected for a flight of six 5-ounce pours. Their flight board is the beefiest one we’ve ever come across, featuring a giant piece of wood with a metal handle and metal glass holders. they seemed to be big into the grains within their beers and the flavors their drafts featured tended to show that. Probably the top brew of the trip was their Grillin’ N Chillin', which is their traditional light lager. We really appreciated the grainy flavor, making it very light and refreshing.

The other beer that stood out, Fortunate Mishop, actually seemed like an anomaly both in name and in flavor profile. Upon ordering, we were told the backstory - this one started out as their Just Jammin’, but someone made a mistake and poured in the wrong ingredient during the brewing process. To rectify it and save the batch, they overcompensated everything with tons of peaches - thus turning it into a “Fortunate Mishop.” As you could imagine, it has a great peach flavor that pairs nicely with its smooth creaminess.

Food, Merch, & More

While they don’t serve full meals in-house here, Rendezvous Junction has chips and pretzels available while also partnering continually with food trucks. In addition to beer, they have canned cocktails, wine, and N/A beer options. If you’re seeking merchandise, this place has you covered - there’s a little separate room featuring hats, shirts, glassware, and plenty of to-go beer. We were disappointed that their tap handles weren’t available for purchase, as they were one of the cooler ones around.

Rendezvous Junction was an awesome experience and the perfect place to spend a few hours. With great beer and welcoming staff, we would definitely make our way back.

Cheers!

Chris
